LexisNexis has announced Service Release 3 for Time Matters and Billing Matters 9.0. This free update offers several important enhancements. Here is a summary of the enhancements in SR-3:
Third Party Applications Support
Adobe Acrobat 9.0 (TM Save and TM Open)
Blackberry OS 4.5 and 4.6
Microsoft SQL Server 2008
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Express
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 for operating system
A new Conflict of Interest Report is easier to read and looks better when sent to Excel.
The default extension for Word merges can be set to either .doc or .docx.
Enhanced synchronization with Outlook, Pocket Outlook and Exchange allows the Regarding Line information (Contact and Matter info) to be included as a note in the Outlook record.
TM Connect now works with multiple emails.
PCLaw Worksheet now available in Time Matters when it is linked to PCLaw.
Attachments can now be saved in a location outside of the Time Matters database. This addresses a major issue where the attachment table inside the Time Matters database could grow to a large size and cause speed and stability issues.
Time Matters is, once again, Time Matters. LexisNexis has dropped the long-winded LexisNexis Front Office powered by Time Matters name. Billing Matters has been similarly un-re-branded. (Is that a word?)
How to Get It
You may already have been prompted to download SR3. If not, select Updates and Check for Updates from the Help Menu.
Update: I forgot to mention that there is supplemental documentation available that includes information on all of the enhancements made in version 9 service releases. I have posted the PDF on both my Krause Practice Management site and in the public downloads area of the IP Associates Support Forum.sr-3, sr3, Time Matters, time matters service release, time matters update, tm connect
