Thursday Tips and Tricks: Microsoft Word – Convert to Plain Text

Convert to Plain Text – Microsoft Word

Have you ever copied some text from a web page or other document and it retains the formatting and from the original source? When you copy snippets from a web page or document into Word, all the styles and formatting are retained.

A way to correct this is to convert the content using “plain text”. Here are two methods of using “plain text”:

Copy and paste your content to a Word Document. Select the block of content and press Ctrl+Space Bar. The copied text will be transformed into “plain text”, removing all the other fonts and formatting.

When you “paste” the content, select “keep text only” selection with your mouse and this will paste your copied text and remove all fonts and formatting.
